Electrolyte filter systems are used for the quality assurance of surface treatment, for the increase of electrolyte service life and for the reduction of drainage volumes flowing into the treatment facilities.
Filtering devices are equipped with the self-priming chemical-resistant glandless pumps with magnetic coupling. They can be used with ejector nozzles to mix the electrolyte in the baths.
It should be kept in mind by choosing the filter system that the filtration of only the galvanizing bath doesn’t solve the problem of coating quality. The filtration should be used for degreasing tanks and other auxiliary baths too (baths for etching, chromatizing etc.). It is recommended a number of electrolyte changes for every process during the filtration. It is recommended 2-5 electrolyte volumes per hour for the electrochemical process, 4-10 bath volumes per hour for the formation of a coating by chemical conversion. Every process has its own features. It is important to choose correctly the filtering surface, porosity of the filter element, materials of filter system (chamber, pump) and of the filter element. Suction pipe of the filter system should be placed at the bath’s bottom to filter the collected settlings. It is better to have an additional ejector to wash the settlings out of the bath’s bottom. The sieve filter (strainer) at the input in the suction line of filter system should not have too much closed holes not to prevent the flow of settlings into the filter system.
